POLICY AND CRITERIA FOR OUT-OF-STATE
INSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARSHIP ON THE NON-RESIDENT TUITION
New Policy Effective Fall 2007
Southeastern Oklahoma State University will provide a non-resident
tuition waiver to a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen (permanent
US resident) who meets the listed criteria. No application is necessary.
Effective Fall 2007:
A. First-time Southeastern undergraduate or graduate students (Fall, Spring, Summer) will receive a 100% non-resident tuition waiver for the first two semesters including Fall, Spring and/or Summer. This applies to the non-resident portion only. Resident tuition and fees still apply.
B. Subsequent semesters, students may continue to receive non-resident tuition waivers based on SOSU retention/graduation GPA (grade point average), using the following scale:
.....................................Non-Resident
Portion
Grade Point Average .......Tuition
Waived
........3.50 - 4.00..........................100%
........3.00 - 3.46............................75%
........2.50 - 2.99............................50%
........2.25 - 2.49............................25%
C. Texas school personnel may receive a 100% non-resident tuition waiver. To ensure receipt of the 100% waiver, a letter signed by a school official verifying your Texas school employment must be submitted to the Office of Student Financial Aid before the last day to enroll or add a class. Otherwise, the above waiver scale applies.
Students are not required to apply for the non-resident tuition waiver. The waiver amount will be automatically credited to each student’s statement based on SOSU GPA.
Exceptions to the policy and/or criteria must be requested through the Vice President for Student Affairs. Deadline is the last day to enroll or add classes for the semester.
